Surrey Hills Nordic Walking runs classes in a number of locations throughout the Surrey Hills, centred around Dorking, where our beginners courses are held (other locations by arrangement).
Free Taster Sessions
A free 45 minute session where you can come and try Nordic walking, learn more about it and what Surrey Hills Nordic Walking offers – and see if it is for you!
NWUK Learn to Nordic Walk courses
A structured beginners course usually conducted over 3 or 4 weekly sessions.
Available on a group, 1-2 or 1-1 basis.
Gain a NWUK Freedom Passport on successful completion of this course, and you are ready to join regular walks with us or other NWUK groups.
If you have Nordic walking experience or have a Freedom Passport but have had a break from Nordic walking, we can also organise refresher sessions so that you can brush up on the technique you learnt during your original Learn to Nordic walk course.
Regular walks take place in term time to suit all levels, from Wellbeing Walks to Workout Walks, and occasional Adventure Walks – challenge yourself as much or as little as you want. If you are not sure which level would suit you best, just ask us.
All walks are led by a qualified Surrey Hills Nordic Walking instructor. You must have already been taught how to Nordic walk by a qualified instructor before joining one of our regular sessions – if you haven’t yet, please see above for more!
Wellbeing Walks – Walking for Health
These classes are perfect for beginners and those who prefer to walk about 2-3 miles/hour. The focus is on perfecting technique, whilst enjoying the beautiful surroundings of the Surrey Hills surroundings.
Workout Walks – Walking for Fitness
These classes are designed to work on fitness levels by walking at a pace of 3-4 miles/hour. These sessions can include strength, balance and cardiovascular exercises.
These are occasional longer walks which enable us to explore the Surrey Hills further, often including a pub lunch stop.
Team building workshops
Are you looking for an activity to add to your conference or team building day? Leave your desks behind and network in the great outdoors. Nordic walking is an activity that everyone can participate in. It’s a great way to have a bit of fun and learn something new.
Courses for businesses, clubs and associations
We can run courses for your business, social and sporting club, or social / educational association – organisations we have run courses for in the past include The Hurlingham Club in Fulham, and local U3A (University of the Third Age) groups.
